About Us
Founder & Executive Director
Staffie S. Hill is a member of West Grove Church of Christ where she practices her Christian faith and serves as the Chairperson of the Benevolence Ministry. She is a loving mother of five boys. This innate love for children inspired her to serve as a childcare provider for 30 years.
In July 2011, Staffie’s strong desire to bless others and provide hope through community service, led her to start Christian In Action Outreach with the mission of providing shelter, food, clothing, and other essential items to families in need and the unhoused.
In November 2025, Staffie changed the name from Christian In Action Outreach to Community In Action Transitional Home to reflect not only her outreach to families in need and people experiencing homelessness, but also her targeted transitional services to unhoused men.
Our Core Values
About Community In Action
We provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for men in Memphis who are working to rebuild their lives and regain stability. Our mission is to create a space where individuals can recover with dignity, find encouragement through community, and access the practical resources they need to move forward with confidence. Through compassion, accountability, and ongoing support, we strive to help each person overcome challenges, restore hope, and build a stronger foundation for a healthier and more independent future.

Built on hope and dignity
Community In action Transitional Home exists to help people returning from incarceration find a safe place to land and a stronger path forward. We believe reentry should begin with stability, compassion, and real opportunities for growth.
Our work centers on housing, encouragement, and practical support that helps residents reconnect with daily life, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward independence. We serve Memphis with a community-centered approach that honors every person’s worth.
